UzhNU has established cooperation with leading institutions of higher education in Uzbekistan
The Rector of Uzhhorod National University Volodymyr Smolanka paid a working visit to Uzbekistan as a member of the official delegation of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine on November 22-27, 2021. The Ukrainian delegation headed by the Minister of Education Serhiy Shkarlet had an extremely busy schedule, as the purpose of the business trip was to develop Ukrainian-Uzbek cooperation in the areas of education, science, technology and innovation. identify further measures aimed at developing and improving the effectiveness of bilateral cooperation.
According to the press service of the Ministry of Education and Science, the Ukrainian delegation met with the Minister of Higher and Secondary-Specialized Education of the Republic of Uzbekistan Abdukodir Khamidovich Toshkulov, and the Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Minister of Tourism and Sports, the Rector of “Silk Road” International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage Aziz Abdukakharovich Abdukhakimov.
During the visit, the Rector of Uzhhorod National University Volodymyr Smolanka signed a cooperation agreement with Samarkand University and Samarkand State Medical Institute.
The members of the Ukrainian delegation also visited the INNO Technopark in Tashkent. It is a modern innovation center equipped with state-of-the-art technologies in the field of robotics, energy, electrical engineering and biotechnology. The Ukrainian delegation had the opportunity to get acquainted with welding, EDM, wood and plastic processing laboratories, and premises for startups.
The representatives of the Ministry of Education and Science and higher education institutions of Ukraine also took part in the 1st Forum of Rectors of Ukrainian and Uzbek universities at Tashkent State Transport University, visited the InnoWeek 2021 exhibition, organized by the Ministry of Innovation Development of the Republic of Uzbekistan to present the potential and results of activities in the field of science, high technology, innovation and investment projects.
