Jan Buleca, Associate Professor of the Technical University in Košice (Slovak Republic), was awarded the title of Doctor Honoris Causa of Uzhhorod National University
Another important event of the solemn extended meeting of the Academic Council, which took place on 29 August, was the awarding of the honorary degree of Doctor Honoris Causa of Uzhhorod National University to Jan Buleca, Associate Professor of the Faculty of Economics at the Technical University in Košice (Slovak Republic) for his personal achievements in economics, as well as for his contribution to deepening cooperation between universities in the Slovak Republic and Ukraine.
Associate Professor Jan Buleca is the author of over 200 publications, articles, textbooks, monographs, participant and leader of international scientific projects (APVV, VEGA, Interreg), member of the editorial boards of the Slovak Journal of Food Sciences, Acta Oeconomica Universitatis Selye, and the Scientific Bulletin of UzhNU. He is a member of the Economics series, an external member of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences, a member of the Department of Economics and Management of the Slovak Academy of Agricultural Sciences, the Association of Slovak Scientific and Technical Societies, the American Economic Association, the Slovak Economic Society and the Polish Economic Society.
Brief overview of Jan Buleca's scientific and teaching career: lecturer at the University of Veterinary Medicine and Pharmacy (Košice) (2002-2010); lecturer at the Faculty of Economics of the Technical University of Košice (2011-2017); since 2017, associate professor at the Department of Finance of the Faculty of Economics at the Technical University of Košice; since 2019, deputy dean of the Faculty of Economics at the Technical University of Košice.
