About specialties and employment opportunities for graduates of the Ukrainian-Hungarian Educational and Scientific Institute
In 2008, the Faculty of Humanities and Natural Sciences with Hungarian as the language of instruction was established at Uzhhorod National University, which later, after reorganisation, became the Ukrainian-Hungarian Educational and Scientific Institute. Today, the institute has three departments: Physics and Mathematics, History of Hungary and European Integration, Hungarian Philology, and the Centre for Hungarology. Thanks to close cooperation with foreign universities and institutions, students often travel abroad and have the opportunity to participate in international grant and scholarship programmes. For more information about specialisations and employment opportunities for graduates, we spoke with Oleksandr Shpenyk, director of the Ukrainian-Hungarian Educational and Scientific Institute.

– In your opinion, why will the above-mentioned specialities be relevant in 2025?
– First of all, we train teachers for secondary schools where Hungarian is the language of instruction. The teaching profession will always be relevant! Today, there are a large number of vacancies in such schools, and therefore the employment rate of graduates is practically 100%. Moreover, starting from the 4th year, many of our students are already working in schools. As for computer science, this industry is currently developing the fastest and needs many new specialists. There is also a high demand for translators from Hungarian. In general, our graduates have practically no problems finding employment.
– Please tell us about the new features of this year's admission campaign at your faculty.
– No changes are planned for admission to our specialities. We expect the admission campaign to be the same as last year.
– What employment opportunities are available to graduates?
– Graduates can find employment in secondary education institutions, higher education institutions, and as translators in various organisations and companies. Quite a few work abroad in the field they studied at our university, particularly in the field of international relations.
