Volodymyr Smolanka , the Rector of UzhNU ,was awarded the medal of Maria Curie-Skłodowska University in Lublin (Poland)
On Friday, 21 March, the Maria Curie-Skłodowska University in Lublin hosted the International Seminar on Medical Biology, which was attended by the Rector of UzhNU Volodymyr Smolanka, former Consul General of Ukraine in Lublin Ivan Hrytsak, Rector of Palacký University in Olomouc (Czech Republic) Martin Prochazka and other distinguished guests and university staff.
As part of the seminar, medals were awarded for outstanding scientific achievements and contribution to the development of the university. The Rector of Marie Curie-Sklodowska University Radoslav Dobrovolsky presented the award to the Rector of UzhNU Volodymyr Smolanka. The former Consul General of Ukraine in Lublin Ivan Hrytsak was also awarded.


After the awards ceremony, the scientific seminar began. The seminar included four keynote speeches on the latest achievements in medicine and biotechnology, and the speakers presented the results of their research and innovative solutions that could have a significant impact on the development of these industries. In particular, Volodymyr Smolanka, MD, PhD, delivered a presentation entitled ‘Temporal lobe epilepsy treatment: a paradigm shift’. The seminar was a great opportunity to share experiences and establish cooperation between scientists from different research centres.
