Preliminary results of the entrance campaign to UzhNU
An entrance campaign to higher educational institutions of Ukraine is still going on. The deadline for submission of electronic applications was on July, 26 and we addressed the Head of the Admission Committee of Uzhhorod National University, its Rector Volodymyr Smolanka, with the request to summarize preliminary results of this year's entrance campaign.
According to the Rector, over 18 thousand applications were submitted to Uzhhorod National University for all the bachelor's and master's courses. More than 800 people applied to the Natural Sciences and Humanities College of UzhNU, so the total number of applications is almost 19 thousand. At present, our university is in the 13th-14th place among all higher educational institutions of Ukraine.
We are pleased to inform that many applications have been submitted by the entrants with high competitive scores. So, 15 entrants with a maximum score of 200 gave preference (1st and 2nd priorities) to our university. In general, we received 70 applications from the applicants with a competition score of 200 and 213 applications with a competition score 195 and higher.
By the way, Oleksandr Sabovchyk, the only Transcarpathian graduate who received 200 points in two subjects, chose UzhNU and will be a student of our Medical Faculty. Another evidence of the growth of the popularity of Uzhhorod National University is that we received more than 20 applications from the entrants who became the winners of the IV stage of the All-Ukrainian Competitions among school students.
At present, it is possible to rank the most popular faculties of UzhNU among the entrants. Thus, the leader is the Faculty of Medicine (almost 1700 applications), in the second place is the Faculty of History and International Relations (1260 applications), the third is the Faculty of Law (1141 applications). They are followed by the Faculties of Tourism and International Communications (1076 applications), Faculty of Healthcare and Physical Education (916 applications), Faculty of Foreign Philology (915 applications) and Faculty of Social Sciences (885 applications). The Rector also noted that several new specialities had been opened. Applications were submitted by the entrants from all regions of Ukraine which is the evidence of strengthening the position and the growth of popularity of UzhNU at the national level.
