Another step towards cooperation: a representative of Munster University of Technology in Ireland visited UzhNU
On Tuesday, 5 August, Michael Hall, Head of External Relations at Munster University of Technology and Partnership Coordinator for the Alliance of European Universities, arrived at Uzhhorod National University on a working visit to develop international cooperation.
This is another step in the cooperation between Munster University of Technology and Uzhhorod National University. The visit was preceded by an official trip of a delegation from UzhNU, consisting of Rector Volodymyr Smolanka and Vice-Rector for Scientific Work Ivan Myroniuk, to Tralee (Ireland) in July this year. At that time, the parties developed a number of specific proposals for establishing cooperation in the field of academic mobility of students and lecturers, introducing joint interdisciplinary educational programmes, and exploring prospects for scientific cooperation.
The purpose of the Irish delegation's visit to UzhNU is to study in more detail the possible prospects and sign a Memorandum of Cooperation in specific areas of activity. First of all, Michael Hall, Head of External Relations at Munster University of Technology, had the opportunity to meet with UzhNU Rector Volodymyr Smolanka. Since Irish colleagues were particularly interested in cooperation in the fields of human health, information technology and bioengineering, Michael Hall visited the Faculty of Health and Physical Education, the Faculty of Biology and the Faculty of Information Technology to gain a deeper understanding of the educational programmes offered by these departments. Michael Hall also toured the main building, the Scientific Library of UzhNU, the sports complex, and the university's scientific laboratories.
Thus, at the current stage of cooperation, the parties have reached agreements in the areas of academic mobility of students and lecturers within the Erasmus+ programme, the launch of joint educational programmes and joint scientific research.
