Department of Information Science, Physical and Mathematical Disciplines operates since September 1, 1996, when classes began at the Faculty of Computer Science. The first name of the department was the Department of Physics and Mathematics Disciplines. As a result of the opening of a new specialty of “Software of Automated Systems”, on September 1, 2005, the Department became graduating at the educational and qualification levels of “bachelor”, “specialist’’ and “master” and was called the Department of Software of Automated Systems and Physics and Mathematics Disciplines. As a result of the reorganization of the Faculty of Computer Science into the Faculty of Information Technologies, the Department is called the Department of Information Science and Physics and Mathematics Disciplines. It became graduating in specialty 126 “Information Systems and Technology” on September 1, 2018.
