Department of Informative and Operating Systems and Technologies
The department is a graduating department and provides training for specialists in the field of F3 "Computer Science" at the educational levels of bachelor, master and doctor of philosophy.
The department was established in 2000 as a result of the division of the Department of Informatics and Information Technologies into two: the Department of Information and Managing Systems and Technologies and the Department of General Informatics and Mathematical Modeling. The first head of the department was Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor Yuriy Vasylenko.
Students majoring in Computer Science have the opportunity to participate in Erasmus+ mobility programs in Germany, Spain, Poland, the Czech Republic, Croatia, Romania, and other European countries. For instance, in 2025, Ivan Popovych continues his studies at Darmstadt University (Germany), Mykhailo Yanoshi at the University of Castilla-La Mancha (Spain), Anastasiia Tovtyn and Yuliia Trofymenko at the University of Zagreb (Croatia), and Anastasiia Haboda and Ivan Hulaktan at the University of Pitești (Romania). Students also have the opportunity to undergo internships at leading IT companies with offices in Uzhhorod, such as EPAM, SoftServe, Petterson Apps, Civitta – or remotely at other companies. In particular, in 2024, Vasyl Merenych, Roman Pitsura, Serhii Loshak, and Andrii Symkin completed internships at Huawei, receiving generous scholarships. All of them received high evaluations from the company, with Andrii Symkin earning the highest distinction – Excellent Intern.
