UzhNU improved its position by 11 points in the consolidated ranking of Ukrainian higher educational institutions
Confirming the status of the most dynamic university of Ukraine, Uzhhorod National University improved its position by more than 10 points in the consolidated ranking of Ukrainian universities 2015.
The most authoritative among experts and media national and international rankings of Ukrainian universities "Top-200 Ukraine", "Scopus" and "Webometrics", each of which uses different evaluation criteria of higher educational institutions, were used as the initial data for the consolidated rating of higher educational institutions of Ukraine.
The final generalized ranking summarizes positions of the universities in the "Top-200 Ukraine", "Scopus" and "Webometrics" rankings.
UzhNU occupies 30-31 position among 286 best higher educational institutions. In previous years Uzhhorod National University occupied the place lower than the fortieth.
Ranking results are available on the leading Ukrainian educational website http://osvita.ua.
"We are pleased to perceive the fact that UzhNU has immediately improved its position by 11 and a half in the consolidated ranking of Ukrainian universities, which is the summarization of three prestigious rankings. Ranking results are one of the objective criteria for the Ministry of Education of Ukraine in the context of assessing the quality of education and research in specific universities. I would like to mention that in the last 7 years when the ranking was published UzhNU consistently occupied a position in the fifth or the sixth dozen. So, in our opinion, this year's achievement is the proof that our university is developing dynamically, we open more and more new specialities and introduce innovations in education and science. Since last year our university has really become an international one because currently more than 370 students from around the world study here. This year we plan to admit more than 120 students from abroad. Indicators of work have become the basis for allocation of a significant number of budget funded places to UzhNU this year. The number of budget places allocated to UzhNU by the MEU is the tenth in size in Ukraine. I am convinced that this is only the beginning of our movement forward. Our next goal is to achieve high performance in international rankings. I want to emphasize that the new achievements of our university are the result of work of the whole university staff!", - commented the Rector of the University, MD, Professor Volodymyr Smolanka.
