UzhNU is creating its own media holding

"The concept of innovative university" approved at the last meeting of the Academic Council of UzhNU declares the university’s desire to change its status of traditional classical university to the research and innovative one. It’s high time to create university’s own media "holding" as a separate structure that would unite existing media and publishing subdivisions of the university in order to implement the university’s development strategy, produce and promote brand printed, electronic, video and audio materials, modernize university’s own publishing business.

 For this purpose, the Rector of UzhNU Professor Volodymyr Smolanka initiated the establishment of the Information and Publishing Centre of UzhNU on the basis of the press service and university websites, Media Centre, newspaper "Pohliad", educational TV centre and publishing house "Hoverla" as editorial, publishing and printing subdivisions. The advanced development of information and telecommunication system of the university is the key to successful research activity and emergence of new high-tech areas of research.

The job to organize the reform of information and publishing business of UzhNU was entrusted to an experienced media worker of Transcarpathia, an Honored Journalist of Ukraine Vasyl Ilnytskyy, who has more than 30 years experience of work for the Transcarpathian media. He worked as a journalist for the Transcarpathian State TV company and several regional newspapers, was the manager of the publishing house "Zakarpattya", the chief editor of the newspapers "Sribna Zemlya" and "FEST" and a staff reporter of the newspaper "Den" in the Transcarpathian region.
