UzhNU is among the leading universities of Ukraine in Scopus 2018 database

On Thursday, April 12, 2018, Osvita.ua published the ranking of Ukrainian higher educational institutions according to SciVerse Scopus database, which was compiled as a result of the scientometric monitoring of the institutions performing scientific and publishing activity in Ukraine conducted by the Ukrainian Research and Publishing Service (URAN).

As of April 2018, Scopus database includes 162 Ukrainian higher education institutions, which is by 26 more than in April 2017.

The universities of Ukraine are ranked by Hirsch index - a quantitative indicator based on the number of scientific publications and the number of their citations. 

The top three Ukrainian universities with the highest Hirsch index are Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv - 84 (79 in the ranking of 2017), V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University - 65 (60) and Ivan Franko Lviv National University - 55 (50).

It should be noted that as of April 2018, UzhNU is in the honorable 12th position with 2070 publications and 9208 citations. The Hirsch Index of UzhNU is 35, it improved by 6 points compared to April 2017 allowing Uzhhorod National University to rank 4 positions higher.

 We are pleased to mention that UzhNU is the 7th best university among the classical national universities of Ukraine in terms of scientometric indicators and the 5th among all the higher educational institutions of the Western region.
