The memorandum with the regional council provides UzhNU students with the opportunity to undergo internships at leading medical institutions in neighbouring countries
On Monday, 10 June, the Rector of UzhNU, Professor Volodymyr Smolanka, and the Chairman of the Zakarpatska Regional Council, Roman Sarai, signed a Memorandum of Cooperation that provides for the internship of medical students of Uzhhorod National University in medical institutions of the partner regions of Zakarpattia , Czech Republic, Slovakia, Austria, Hungary and Romania.
The agreements on the internships of Uzhhorod National University students in leading foreign medical institutions were reached during the recent visits of the Regional Council leadership to the neighbouring Central European countries, with which Zakarpattia has been cooperating in business and friendly relations for many years.
The students' internships will allow us to train medical staff and learn from the experience of our European colleagues. In particular, Zakarpattia now needs a large number of rehabilitation doctors.
The first group of 6 students majoring in physical therapy and rehabilitation from the Faculty of Health and Physical Education of UzhNU, accompanied by a teacher, will leave for the Czech Republic on 20 June. For two weeks, they will be trained in the leading rehabilitation centres of the Kralovo-Hradec and Pardubice regions.
