Security issues of Ukraine's educational policy were discussed at UzhNU

On Friday, October 6th 2017, Tetyana Chernenko, the Head of Humanitarian Security Department of the National Institute for Strategic Studies, presented a NISS analytical report "Security Issues of Educational Policy: World Experience and Ukrainian Realities" at Uzhhorod National University. The initiators of the presentation were Vice-Rector for Academic Policy, Research and International Relations Myroslava Lendel and advisor to the Directorate of the National Institute for Strategic Studies Svitlana Mitryayeva. University teachers, employees, students, experts and journalists came to listen to the report.

While presenting the analytical report, Tetyana Chernenko stated that it finally became obvious in Ukraine that without changing people’s worldview, it’s impossible to achieve the democracy standards of developed countries, which, in turn, makes successful social and social transformations impossible. Therefore, the systemic development of the humanitarian security sector should be Uktaine’s top priority, along with the formation of powerful Armed Forces.

The report focuses on the issues of development and reform of the educational system in the scope of strengthening the national security, the introduction of new forms of educational activities, the problems and prospects of the integration of education and science, the condition of education on the temporarily occupied territories and ways of overcoming the impact of the Russian aggression on national education.

During the presentation there was a lively exchange of views in which the scholars of UzhNU Marianna Kolodiy, Hanna Melehanych and Myroslava Lendel participated actively. Full text of the analytical report can be found at: http://www.niss.gov.ua/content/articles/files/Osvita_Bezpeka-40c41.pdf
