Scopus-2016: UzhNU is the 13th among 128 universities of Ukraine
According to Osvita.ua, scientometric monitoring of scientific and publishing institutions of Ukraine has been conducted. SciVerse Scopus database indicators were taken into consideration, on the basis of which the ranking of Ukrainian universities has been compiled. 13th position in the ranking is occupied by Uzhhorod National University, which has got 28 Hirsch index points.
The results of the ranking of higher educational institutions are based on Scopus database indicators, which is a tool for tracking citation of scientific articles published by the institution or its employees.
The Scopus database regularly indexes over 20,000 scientific journals, 370 book series and 5.5 million conference proceedings.
In April 2016 Scopus database includes 128 higher educational institutions of Ukraine, which is by 8 higher educational institutions more than in September 2014.
In the ranking table the universities of Ukraine are ranked by Hirsch index - a quantitative indicator based on the number of scientific publications and the number of their citations.
According to the ranking, 73 points (compared to 72 in the previous ranking) - the highest Hirsch index among the universities of Ukraine - has Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv, Karazin Kharkiv National University has 57 (52) and Ivan Franko National University of Lviv with 46 points moved Odessa Mechnikov National University from the third position owing to the increasing number of publications and citations.
The fifth and the sixth positions are occupied by Yuriy Fedkovych Chernivtsi National University (44) and NTU "Kyiv Polytechnic Institute" (38).
M.Gorky Donetsk National Medical University (37), O.Honchar Dnipropetrovsk National University (33) and NTU "Kharkiv Polytechnic Institute" (33) are in the 7th, 8th and 9th positions respectively.
The 10th place is occupied by the Lviv Polytechnic National University.
