Public speaking training for students and teachers took place at UzhNU
What charisma is, how to make connection with your audience, how the personal works in public sphere, what emotional intelligence is - these and other topics were covered at the training, which took place on Friday, May 27, 2022 at UzhNU. It was conducted by Olena Kurta, a Ukrainian actress, a psychologist, a graduate of UzhNU, and the founder of the NGO "Ukrainian Creative Guild".
"Today we have met in order to actualize the importance and significance of each of us. Although we are talking about public speaking today, essentially it is about every participant of our training. Therefore, when it comes to any field of activity, journalism, advocacy, public speaking, we return to the point of "who I am" and "what I broadcast," "what I say," and "I matter," and "what I say and how I say it affects other people". My task in any training I conduct is to make people strongly believe that their words, voices, and opinions are important, so that they can openly express their thoughts and feel free. And most importantly, I learned to trust myself," says Olena Kurta.
During the training, the speaker told about understanding of one's own interest, interest in the topic of the performance, and body language during non-verbal communication with the audience. Olena Kurta also emphasizes that speakers have to prepare their public speeches, have their own understanding of why this speech is needed. Love, respect for the audience, and the energy that a person gives are extremely important.
