Meeting with the OSCE Project Co-ordinator in Ukraine at Uzhhorod National University

On Friday, April 8, 2022, Volodymyr Smolanka, the Rector of UzhNU had a meeting with honorable representatives of OSCE in Ukraine. Ambassador Henrik Villadsen, the OSCE Project Co-ordinator in Ukraine, Mark Fawcett, a representative of the OSCE Conflict Prevention Center, Vitalii Gatseliuk, Programme Manager on Legal Reform at the OSCE Project Co-ordinator in Ukraine and Mykola Palinchak the Dean of the Faculty of International Economic Relations, took part in the meeting.

"We are glad to welcome you to Uzhhorod National University, one of the largest universities in Ukraine. We are always open for joint projects, and I am confident that our cooperation will be benefitial for our country in this difficult period," said Volodymyr Smolanka.

 The issues and humanitarian aspects of the stay of internally displaced persons in Ukraine and Transcarpathia in particular were discussed at the meeting. Rector Volodymyr Smolanka said that Uzhhorod National University actively helped internally displaced persons and participated in many humanitarian projects. Currently, the university is hosting more than 1,500 IDPs on its premises.

They also discussed the possibility of organizing a meeting of students of Uzhhorod National University with the OSCE Project Coordinator in Ukraine.
