International festival in the center of Uzhhorod
Lots of participants of the 2nd annual international youth festival "Beauty Around Me" are students of UzhNU. This weekend, Teatralna square became international – the natives and guests of Uzhhorod could get acquainted with the cultures and traditions of different nations.
A grand festival of cultures that united representatives of Ukraine, Hungary, Slovakia, the USA, India, Nigeria, Ghana, Libya, Morocco, Egypt, Zimbabwe and Jordan was held as part of the 2nd annual Uzhhorod International Youth Festival "Beauty Around Me".
The event was organized by the Youth and Sports Department of the Transcarpathian Regional State Administration together with the NGO "Ecosfera", US Peace Corps, Uzhhorod Youth NGO "United Studens", Transcarpathian Youth Council and Euroschool.
On the first day, young people from different corners of the world got acquainted with each other and introduced their countries. A quest was held on the territory of the Uzhhorod castle and skansen to help them understand the culture of our region better.
On the second day the participants of the festival presented their countries to the general public. They offered dishes of their national cuisines, showed their folk costumes, and told about their countries. Students sang, danced, drew mehendi, entertained the spectators with the fire performance, etc.
The highlight of the festival was a dance flash mob which united different nations’ cultural heritage in one dance.
