Everyone is invited to learn to swim in the sports and recreational complex of UzhNU during the summer
Despite the fact that summer has come and the academic year is over, activities in the sports complex of UzhNU continue. In particular, daily trainings and competitions take place in the swimming pool of the sports and recreational complex “Burevisnyk”, new projects are launched.
Examination session is almost over and summer vacations have begun, thereby all sports facilities are not occupied by students - says Andriy Kurta, the director of the sports and recreational complex. – We can allow residents, companies and organizations to use the swimming pool. It is the period of school vacations and summer camps, we took the initiative to improve preschoolers’ and junior pupils’ health on favorable terms. Four such groups of children have been functioning since the first of June. We also invite to swim a group of children from the sanatorium "Malyatko", and the camp operating at PADIYUN.
Since the swimming pool of Uzhhorod gymnasium is under reconstruction, students of the school can also use our facilities. In addition, migrants from Eastern Ukraine and family members of ATO participants have the opportunity to train in the swimming pool".
According to the director of the sports and recreational complex, there are two priorities of the sports complex functioning in the summer. The complex provides lessons of swimming for a small fee (15-20 UAH). The second goal is rehabilitation of children. The pool is going to work in this mode during the whole summer. Seven experienced coaches train children, new groups are formed if needed. You can swim every day, and coaches work at different hours. "Sports and recreational complex of UzhNU provides various services including organization of major events. Recently we hosted a Water Polo Championship of Ukraine. We expand our area of activity, attract sponsors to organize various tournaments, "- says Andriy Kurta.
From the first of July the project for UzhNU employees and their children is launched at “Burevisnyk”. Those who cannot swim will be taught to swim, those who can will improve their swimming skills. Participation is free.
Vadym Kolechko, the head of health and sports swimming club "Na start" is one of the coaches working with kids in the pool this summer. He will soon start training UzhNU employees. "Today there are favorable conditions for the development of swimming - says Vadym Kolechko. - One of the goals of our club is to provide swimming training courses to UzhNU employees and their children. We begin on July, 1. They will learn to swim, improve their technique, then we will choose the best swimmers.” In addition, we have started swimming training courses for children with the support of UzhNU. In July the second group will be trained, the third one - in August."
"Thanks to UzhNU we have managed to create better conditions for children to do sports. While swimming, they improve their health, become stronger. We are going to select the most talented children and continue working with them in the future,"- concluded the coach.
