The staff of the Department of Finance and Banking systematically works to deepen the scientific activities of the Department, which contributes to the strategic development of the Department and the growth of its human resources.

To date, the teaching staff of the Department is working on the initiative scientific research topic "Problems and prospects of regional development in the context of financial decentralization" number of state registration of research: № 0119U101975 (deadline 04.2018-04.2023).

As part of the implementation of a complex topic, the authors of the project conduct thorough research within the following components:

* generalization, systematization and deepening of theoretical, methodological and scientific approaches to the content and impact of financial support on socio-economic processes in the regions in the modern reforming conditions;

* analysis of the current state and identification of trends in financial autonomy of regions and territorial communities;

* determination of perspective directions of realization of financial policy of balanced development of regions on the basis of self-sufficiency and capacity;

* search and substantiation of strategic directions of regional policy on improvement of financial maintenance of development of regions in the context of financial decentralization.

Within the SRT of the Department, scientists work closely with the Finance Department and other departments of the Transcarpathian Regional State Administration, the Transcarpathian Regional Center for Socio-Economic and Humanitarian Studies of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, the Public Council of the Regional State Administration in Transcarpathian region, Transcarpathian branch of the Association of Ukrainian Cities, Territorial branch of the All-Ukrainian public organization "Association of Taxpayers of Ukraine".

The results of scientific research are covered in collective monographs, scientific articles and discussed at International and All-Ukrainian scientific and practical conferences, practical seminars with representatives of all interested stakeholders. 

In addition, the main areas of research interests of research and teaching staff of the Department of Finance and Banking are the following:

* development of the financial and credit system of Ukraine and Transcarpathian region;

* analysis of the efficiency of the insurance market in the region and the problems of formation of the regional market of insurance services;

* research and analysis of intergovernmental relations and tax policy of the state;

* analysis of the functioning of the banking system and monetary policy of the state;

* financial mechanisms for the formation of active investment policy in the transformation processes taking place in the economy of the regions;

* problems of formation of the regional market of banking services;

* development problems, financial and economic levers to stimulate entrepreneurship in the Transcarpathian region.

  The results of scientific activity of the teaching staff of the Department for the last years are the following:

* 3 textbooks were published, sections in 4 textbooks and 25 educational and methodical recommendations were presented;

* 7 monographs, 87 scientific articles and 150 abstracts were published,. including 59 - at the international conferences;

* 2 PhD. and 3 D.Sc. dissertations were defended.

An important element of scientific activity is the systematic holding of All-Ukrainian and International conferences, round tables and scientific seminars for students, young scientists, teachers and practitioners and the involvement of students in research on the initiative and with the participation of the Department of Finance and Banking.
