UzhNU regained its position in the world ranking

A new Webometrics ranking of web presence of universities has been published. Uzhhorod National University took the 29th place in the list of Ukrainian universities. Last winter it was the 27th, and in summer – the 45th.

Owing to joint activities of the university management and teaching staff, UzhNU regained its previous position. The university managers paid attention to the new ranking methodology and took measures to improve university’s Presence, Openness and Excellence indicators.

Presence indicator shows the diversity and scale of open access information that characterizes and covers all areas of university activity.

Openness reflects the total number of open access materials published in university’s resources – i.e. materials available for free download (mainly in pdf format).

Excellence evaluates the quantity and quality of scientific articles, published by the university staff in scientific journals and belonging to 10% most cited articles in their scientific fields according Scimago Research Group report.

 Considering a new Webometrics ranking, Uzhhorod National University is in the 18th place in the consolidated ranking of Ukrainian universities as of February 7, 2017.
