The Academic Council of UzhNU has reviewed the reports on the financial activities of the university in 2024 and the scientific and pedagogical activities of the Faculty of International Relations
A regular meeting of the Academic Council of UzhNU was held on Tuesday, 25 March. The key issues on the agenda were reports on the financial activities of the university in 2024 and the UzhNU budget for 2025, as well as the research and teaching activities of the Faculty of International Economic Relations. They also considered the issues of supporting the nomination of candidates for the vacancies of corresponding members of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, appointing reviewers for the preliminary examination of doctoral dissertations, creating one-time specialised academic councils to award the degree of Doctor of Philosophy, approving the Estimated Expenditure of the UzhNU Student Council for 2025, and more.

The Academic Council then proceeded to consider the report on the financial activities of the university in 2024 and the UzhNU budget for 2025. Ruslana Vovchanska, Chief Accountant of UzhNU, noted: ‘In 2024, revenues to the general fund reached UAH 299.4 million and to the special fund UAH 431.9 million. Therefore, we can conclude that revenues to both funds have increased compared to previous years. It is also important that, traditionally, the revenues to the special fund are higher than to the general fund.’ In her report, Ruslana Vovchanska noted the expenditures of the general and special funds, information on the purchase of materials, long-term items, fixed assets, payment for services, and presented the university's financial plan for 2025.
The Dean of the School, Mykola Palinchak, presented a report on the scientific and pedagogical activities of the School of International Economic Relations. ‘The structure of the faculty consists of the Department of International Economic Relations, the Department of Applied Linguistics, the Department of International Politics, the Department of Translation Theory and Practice and the Institute of Public Administration and State Development,’ said Mykola Palinchak. ’The faculty offers a bachelor's degree in the following study programmes: ‘International Economic Relations, Digital Technologies in International Business, Applied Linguistics. Master's degree programmes: ‘International Economic Relations, Applied Linguistics. As well as Doctor of Philosophy programmes in International Economic Relations, Political Science and Philology. As for the work with foreign students, the School currently has 6 foreigners studying in the International Economic Relations programme in English and 2 in Ukrainian (citizens of the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Austria, and India). In previous years, the Faculty has trained students from Slovakia, Hungary, Germany, Austria, Israel, India, and African countries. In 2020-2025, the School held 17 successful defences for the degree of Doctor of Philosophy, including 8 in Political Science, 7 in International Economic Relations, and 2 in Philology. In his report, the Dean of the School of International Economic Relations also emphasised the educational and scientific work of the School, international cooperation, and the material and technical base.
In addition, the Academic Council considered the attestation files of persons who ran for academic titles. According to the results of the voting, Vasyl Almashi was awarded the academic title of Associate Professor of the Department of Postgraduate Dentistry; Volodymyr Andryshyn - Associate Professor of the Department of Economics, Business and Trade; Valerii Belyaev - Associate Professor of the Department of Surgical Disciplines; Anton Kozma - Associate Professor of the Department of Physical and Colloidal Chemistry; Valerii Mashura - Associate Professor of the Department of Surgical Diseases; Hanna Mashura - Associate Professor of the Department of Faculty Therapy; Ivan Myhovych - Associate Professor of the Department of Therapy and Family Medicine; Andrianna Milo - Associate Professor of the Department of Applied Linguistics; Vladyslav Mitsa - Associate Professor of the Department of Economics, Business and Trade.
