Pomeranian Academy in Slupsk warmly welcomed the students of the Faculty of Tourism and International Communication
Due to close cooperation of UzhNU administration with the Pomeranian Academy in Slupsk (Poland), owing to the efforts of the Vice-Rector for Research and Academic Policy of UzhNU Ihor Korol, a group of 2nd, 3rd and 4th year students went to study for one semester at one of the famous universities of the Republic of Poland.
The Academy is located 18 km from the Baltic Sea coast in the town of Slupsk, which has an interesting history since it obtained a number of rights under Magdeburg Law in 1265.
Uzhhorod students were warmly welcomed by the Polish students, and the university management who told that the Academy provided courses in 22 specialties in the field of humanities, mathematics and natural sciences, pedagogic, medical and engineering sciences. 100 different specializations are presented within the above mentioned areas (full offer can be found at rekrutacja.apsl.edu.pl). At present, there are three faculties at the Pomeranian University in Słupsk: the Faculty of Philology and History, the Faculty of Mathematics and Science and the Faculty of Social Sciences. Within the scope of their activities, there are eleven institutes.
The University also possesses inter-faculty units i.e.: Scientific Publishing House, University Archives and the Main Library as well as inter-school units: Foreign Language Study Centre, Sports and Rehabilitation Center.
The Academy has the largest library in Central Pomerania, which numbers 349,819 volumes of regular publications and 42,425 special collections. Current subscription is 760 positions, including 47 foreign magazines. All students have free access to broadband internet (both cable and wireless). Students have access to domestic and foreign electronic library databases through the academic network.
Our students live on the University campus located on Arciszewskiego Street which welcomes students to its 3 student dormitories, a canteen, MATRIX club, sports facilities and university clinic.
The University also offers its students additional forms of development of their interests, mainly through their activity in scientific clubs, organizations and associations existing at Pomeranian University or in Academic Choir Juventus Cantans.
Of course, Ukrainian students have a lot of positive impressions after the first week at Polish University. We hope that they will demonstrate high level of knowledge, ability to work and will find many true friends.
