The Academic Council conferred the title of the Honorary Doctor of UzhNU on three foreign scientists
The meeting of the Academic Council of UzhNU as of June 30 traditionally started with good news. Acting Rector Oleksandr Rohach congratulated scientists of the university on their anniversaries and presented honorary distinction of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine to the Dean of the Faculty of Physics Volodymyr Lazur.
On Rector’s behalf Oleksandr Rohach awarded Professor Petro Lyzanets with the honorary letter of commendation, who had celebrated his 85th anniversary. The university staff also congratulated Vice Rector Volodymyr Feketa on his 55th anniversary.
Acting Rector of Uzhhorod National University reported on the results of the accreditation commission meeting. 99% of applications have been satisfied and Oleksandr Rohach congratulated the deans of the faculties that had been accredited.
The Academic Council also voted for granting the Verkhovna Rada and the President of Ukraine scholarships, M.Hrushevskyi, V.Chornovil scholarships, social scholarships of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine and Transcarpathian Regional State Administration and Regional Council scholarships to students on the results of summer examination session.
Now there are more honoured scientists in UzhNU. The Academic Council voted for conferring the honorary professor of UzhNU title on the Director of the University Hospital of Magdeburg Michael Lutke (Germany). The titles of the Honorary Doctor of UzhNU were bestowed on a Professor of Bratislava University Peter Kus, a Professor of the University of Munich Thomas Ruzhicka and the Rector of the Charles University Tomas Ziman. All these scholars will be invited to the celebration of the 70th anniversary of our university where they will receive their awards.
