Department of Machine Industry Technology

Department was founded on 27th of June, 1993 with the purpose to prepare specialists in the branch of mechanical engineering (machine-building) and at the present time is the graduate Department.

The Department trains at the educational qualification level: Bachelor, Specialist, Master of the following field of study: 6.050502 “engineer-mechanic” and at specialties: 7.05050201 and 8.05050201 “mechanical engineering technology”. The Department is the main training sub-department that provides engineers-mechanics for machine-building industry of Transcarpathian Region.

During the time of studying students of “mechanical engineering technology” prepare 9 course papers and works, qualification Bachelor work, diploma thesis or master thesis.

Lecturers of the Department have considerable pedagogic, scientific and producing experience and continue active work in scientific branch. Namely this provides high level of educational and methodic work, which foresees: information of modern problems and tendencies in machine-building and adjoining branches of national economy.

Graduates of the Department obtain basic skills in professional training while they study special disciplines, have practicing and while preparing and defending their diploma and master thesis.

All diploma projects and master thesis use modern computer equipment for preparing constructor and technological documentation, designing the drawings using such programs as “AutoCAD”, “Kompas”, “Kompas 3D”, “Vertykal” and other programs for calculating cutting conditions, allowances for mechanic processing, calculating time for operations and other. The majority of master and diploma theses are defended by graduates – with excellent and good marks.

Department of mechanical engineering technologies (machine-building) is fulfilling scientific research work within the frame of complex topics: “Scientific grounds of creating structural-phase content and improving working characteristics and technology of materials synthesized by combined processes”, “designing a construction of flexible elements for movement drive”, “calculations and designing the constructions for ski elevator”. The Department is also a co-participant at the topic of a complex scientific research: “Developing methods and regimes of creating perspective composing materials and coverings on their base”. (state register  number: 0102 U004205) together with Kyyiv National University of T. Shevchenko.

During the last five years at the Department a substantial scientific researching work was executed which is the subject of over 210 articles, materials of conferences and of over 47 patents and inventions.

Scientific elaborations can be used when producing blanks of components for machines (in casting and stamping production) while implementing high technologies of surface and volume reinforcement of materials and during synthesis of composite materials.

At the present time the Department has requests for providing specialists with higher education to many Companies and Enterprises of Transcarpathain region, namely: “JSC Uzhhorodskyy Turbogaz”, “Machine building factory TISA”, JSC “Uzhhorod factory Electrodvigun”, JSC “Modul”, “Uzhhorod Mechanic Factory”, JSC “EVROCAR”, Ltd “Yadzaki Ukraine”, Ltd “Convector”, “ltd Jabil Circuit Ukraine Limited”, “Metalworks”.

According to the estimation of expert commission of Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine the level of specialists’ training at the Department (material and technical provision, level of scientific work) – satisfies the highest requirements.

Every year the Department publishes 15-20 articles and receives up till 5 patents for invents. Lecturers of the Department take part in translation work of modern technical literature published in Germany, Austria, Hungary, etc.

The Department every year receives gratuities and diplomas for active inventory work, such as at Ukrainian wide competition “Vynahid 2008”, “Vynahid 2011” – the staff of the department won the prizes.
