Urgent Reminder: Renew Your Migration Status to Continue Staying After Studies

Urgent Reminder: Renew Your Migration Status to Continue Staying After Studies

In recent years, the recognition of Ukrainian medical degrees in countries like the UK and Germany has required additional qualifications beyond the basic medical diploma. A period of supervised clinical practice (also known as an “internship”) after completion of 6-year medical studies is sometimes mandatory to convalidate your Ukrainian medical diploma and be eligible to practice medicine abroad.

We are excited to announce the launch of our new internship training program in general practice, designed to simplify and broaden your future career prospects. This opportunity for early bird registration is now open.

Important Details about the Internship for Foreign Students:

  • Duration: The program lasts for 12 months.
  • Registration window: You can enroll from June 20 to September 20.
  • Program start date: Training begins on September 1, but start dates can be adjusted as late as November 1.
  • Tuition fees: The cost is $400 per month for courses conducted in English and $350 per month for courses in Ukrainian.
  • Exemptions: There is no requirement to complete KROK 3 [Step 3] of the usual qualifications at the end of the internship.

As you approach the completion of your 6-year medical studies, it's crucial to be aware that your current migration status, under which you entered as a student, will expire as soon as your studies are completed and you have graduated. To continue your stay post-studies, especially if you plan to join the new internship program, you must renew or extend your migration documents promptly!

We Are Here to Help with Your Migration Needs!

To assist you effectively, we need your updated information concerning your Posvidka (also known as your ID card or (Temporary) Residence Permit). Please fill out the provided form and attach a scanned copy of your Posvidka. Ensure the information, especially your first and last names in both Ukrainian and English, matches exactly as shown in your Posvidka and your passport/travel document issued in your country. Pay special attention to the expiration date of your Posvidka – that is the date on which your legal stay in Ukraine will be terminated.

Please note that if your Posvidka expires and you decide to join our internship program, you must obtain a new Ukrainian visa from your home country. Due to the lack of direct commercial flights to Ukraine, acquiring a visa for a neighboring country may also be necessary to facilitate your entry into Ukraine for the internship. This process involves leaving Ukraine to secure the new visa(s), completing the necessary documentation, and making the required payments before returning. Managing your migration status while still in Ukraine and while your current Posvidka is active is significantly easier and recommended.
