VII International Student Conference ‘NORD - perspective interdisciplinare’
On 15-16 May 2025, the Faculty of Foreign Languages of UzhNU, as co-organiser, took part in the annual VII International Student Conference ‘NORD’ - perspective interdisciplinare, which was held at the Faculty of Philology of the University Centre ‘NORD’Technical University of Cluj-Napoca in Baia, Romania.
The scientific event, which has already become a good tradition, brought together 160 students and doctoral students from Ukraine and Romania, who presented the results of their research. It is positive that this year, for the first time, students of the Faculty of Philology (Department of Ukrainian Literature) of our university joined the conference.

The participants were greeted by the dean of the faculty, Annamaria Falaus, deputy deans Beniamin Pop and Ioan Claudius Farkas, senior lecturers of the Department of Romance Languages and Foreign Literature of UzhNU Taras Datsio and Mykhailo Patrashko, and the general director of Satu Mare Airport. The speakers emphasised that motivation for scientific activity arises, first and foremost, from the desire to contribute to scientific progress by discovering something new that will be important for the development of the state and society. It is important to develop communication skills, learn to present your research, and be open to criticism and new approaches. Young people can be interested in science through interactive events and real-life examples – practical projects, experiments, participation in competitions and grants.

After the official opening, the work continued in sectional meetings, where topical issues of linguistics, literary studies, journalism, pedagogy, theology, ceramic art, cultural studies, social work, and philosophy were discussed.
Traditionally, a collection of materials is prepared based on the results of the conference. The heads of the sections are involved in the work on the sections. This scientific event deserves to be continued and developed in other formats, such as joint projects and events for young people aimed at sparking interest in research and drawing attention to current issues in scientific activity and higher education.
