UzhNU is among seven top universities of Ukraine in the field of science
The Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine together with the company «Clarivate Analytics» (a former Thomson Reuters Intellectual Property & Science business) and the National Academy of Sciences granted the most influential researchers, scientific journals and institutions of Ukraine with "The Leader of Ukrainian Science 2016. Web of Science Award” on the eve of Saint Nicholas Day.
Only seven Ukrainian universities were granted a prestigious award, including Uzhhorod National University. Several universities won the award in the category "Productivity, efficiency and integration into the world science". The most efficient university by the number of publications is Taras Shevchenko,Kyiv National University, the most cited academic research institution is Boholyubov Institute for Theoretical Physics of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, the most quoted University is Vasyl Stefanyk Precarpathian National University, a scientific academic institution with the highest number of publications made in international scientific collaboration is Verkin Institute for Low Temperature Physics and Engineering and the university with the highest number of publications made in international scientific collaboration is Vasyl Karazin Kharkiv National University.
Uzhhorod National University was awarded in the category "Commercialization of Science", namely "For scientific cooperation with the real sector of the economy". The honorary award was presented to the Rector of UzhNU Professor Volodymyr Smolanka by the director for business development in the public sector of Clarivate Analytics Malgorzata Krasovska.
"This award is the evidence that our university does not only train highly qualified specialists for the national economy, but also implements its own original research projects. We are pleased to say that our scientists and talented students work productively in the area of research and this award is a good incentive for further development of science in our university, which has a specific practical application", - said Volodymyr Smolanka.
