The international scientific and practical conference of vice-rectors for scientific work of higher education institutions of Ukraine has started in UzhNU
About 50 vice-rectors for scientific work of higher education institutions of Ukraine gathered at UzhNU to take part in the conference and contribute to the development of the basis for the European integration of Ukrainian education and science. On Friday, 27 October, the international scientific and practical conference "European Integration of Ukrainian Education and Science: Problems and Challenges" was officially opened. The conference was organised by Uzhhorod National University and the Centre for Ukrainian and European Scientific Cooperation.
The event was opened by the Rector of UzhNU Volodymyr Smolanka: "It's nice that this conference is being held at our university. It is a great honour for us. Thank you for finding the opportunity to come in such a difficult time. I think that we have all not been to an event with such a high scientific potential for a long time - in the circle of dozens of vice-rectors for scientific work of universities from all over the country. Given this, I am confident that the conference will be held at a high intellectual level, with interesting presentations and lively discussions ahead. Moreover, the topic of the conference is extremely relevant for our country. We thank the co-organisers for their efforts."
"I could not ignore such a historic event both for the science of Zakarpattia and Zakarpattia in general - the first scientific conference of this scale in our region since the beginning of the full-scale invasion. As everyone knows, our region borders on four EU countries. Therefore, the topic of the conference is very close to our region. Given the many years of experience of cooperation with European colleagues, our scientists have something to share not only in theory but also in practice," said Roman Sarai, Chairman of the Transcarpathian Regional Council.
Ivan Myroniuk, Vice-Rector for Research of UzhNU, also joined the congratulations: "I am glad that all of you have found the opportunity to come today, because live communication and exchange of views is extremely important. We have developments, thoughts, visions that are worth sharing, despite the difficulties and barriers. We would like to make the conference traditional and choose Uzhhorod National University as the venue every year. Here we could discuss both our achievements and consider a number of problems that arise in our work."
Oleh Holovko, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of the Center for Ukrainian and European Scientific Cooperation, and Petro Dobromilskyi, Deputy Chairman of the Zakarpattia Regional State Administration, also spoke. After the official part of the conference, the participants moved on to the plenary session, which was moderated by the Dean of the Faculty of International Economic Relations Mykola Palinchak.
