The head of the Central African Republic government visited UzhNU

On Monday, October 30th, Volodymyr Smolanka, the Rector of Uzhhorod National University, hosted the Prime Minister of the Central African Republic, Ngrebad Firmin. The head of UzhNU familiarized the guest from the African continent with the history and the present day of one of the leading Ukrainian universities and told about the specialties taught at the university, including the ones taught to foreign students from Africa and Asia.

The head of the CAR government emphasized that his relatively young country, headed by Professor of Mathematics and ex-rector of the University Faustin-Archange Touadera, is in great need of educated young intellectuals. "We understand that by investing in education the state invests in the development of the country. The potentialities of Ukrainian higher education are extremely powerful and the Central African Republic is interested in establishing close cooperation with our country and its higher educational institutions, including UzhNU. I mean mutual exchange of students between the universities of the two countries and the training of specialists in the most popular professions," - said Ngrebad Firmin.

"Your assessment of the capacities of Uzhhorod National University in promoting the intellectual growth of the young countries of the African continent is very important for us, - said the Rector of UzhNU Volodymyr Smolanka. - We are positive about the opportunity to develop partnership with the universities of the CAR, since we already have some experience in this business - almost 900 students from 29 countries study at UzhNU. Therefore, we are open for cooperation. "

 The conversation was joined by the Vice-Rector for International Relations Myroslava Lendel and Honorary Consul of the Democratic Republic of Congo to Ukraine Roman Mehela.
