Graduates of the Department of Military Training of UzhNU have been conferred officer ranks
On Friday, December 3, 2021, in the large conference hall of the Academic Council of Uzhhorod National University, graduates of the Department of Military Training of UzhNU were conferred the ranks of junior lieutenants and, by the order of the Minister of Defense of Ukraine, the ranks of officers. The celebration was dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the International Students' Day.
Many guests came to congratulate the new reserve officers. In particular, Acting Head of the Transcarpathian Regional State Administration Petro Dobromilskyi, the Head of the Department of Military Training of Uzhhorod National University Vasyl Oliynyk, Vice-Rector of Uzhhorod National University Ihor Korol, Deputy Mayor of Uzhhorod Vasyl Homonai, Military Chaplain, graduate of the department Ivan Isayevych. The guests wished the graduates of the department many more victories and also emphasized the great responsibility of the officers, on whom the life and health of their subordinates and the peace of their families might depend in the future.
In addition, Deputy Mayor of Uzhhorod Vasyl Homonai presented diplomas of Uzhhorod City Council to a 3rd year student of the Faculty of History and International Relations, Chairperson of the Student Council, Anton Yablonskyi, a 3rd year student of the Faculty of Social Sciences. Kateryna Klopotar, a second-year master's student of the Faculty of Law, Maryana Zhemonska for their significant personal contribution to the development of public life of the University.
The Department of Military Training of Uzhhorod National University was established in 2015. Among this year’s graduates of the department you can find not only those who served in the army, but also those who defended Ukraine in the east, took part in the battles for Debaltseve, such as a veteran and activist Mykola Marchyshak. He sincerely thanked the rector of the university Volodymyr Smolantka for understanding the importance of military training and the officers of the department for their professional knowledge.
