Decentralization issue has been discussed and prospective community formation plan has been recommended at the Faculty of Law

Scientific and practical conference "Constitutional reform: regional dimension", held at the Faculty Law of Uzhhorod National University on May 26, focused on the issue of decentralization and territorial consolidation of communities. The discussion was joined by well-known scholars, lawyers, NGO representatives, members of the Public Council of the Transcarpathian Regional Administration and reforms office experts. During the conference, a round table "Decentralization and  creation of competent communities: the regional dimension of systemic reforms of efficient local government formation in Transcarpathia" was held.

The issue of voluntary consolidation of territorial communities has been discussed with the office of reforms.

Conference presentation concerned constitutional and legal issues of reforming bodies of local self-government in Ukraine, implementation mechanisms of urgent improvements of the state legal system of Ukraine, self-sufficient community formation procedure in the context of the constitutional reform and ensuring the rule of law in the activity of local public authorities.

Conference participants advised the deputies of the regional council to approve the prospective competent community formation plan in the Transcarpathian region as the one that complies with the laws and methodology. Regional state executive bodies were advised to focus on compliance with current legislative and statutory acts on the creation of communities.
