Project name: Empowering Educators for Sustainable Future: Enhancing Teacher Training Capacity for Ukraine's Recovery EESF 101237551- RASMUS-EDU-2025-CBHE-STRAND-1

The project aims to modernize Ukraine’s teacher training system by integrating sustainability-focused education and aligning it with European standards. In response to the urgent educational challenges exacerbated by war, this initiative fosters resilience, inclusivity, and innovation in teacher training, equipping educators to address socio-economic, environmental, and pedagogical challenges. Through a structured, multi-level approach, the project enhances national policies, institutional capacities, and regional accessibility to quality teacher education.

Among the overall objectives of the project: 

• developing and institutionalizing a Gender Equality University Strategy, which aligns with EU gender policies and SDG 5, fostering institutional reforms that support gender mainstreaming in Ukrainian higher education.
• establishing SDG University Labs as innovation hubs where educators and students engage in sustainability-oriented research, interdisciplinary collaboration, and practical applications of ESD principles.
• adressing disparities between urban and rural areas in teacher training at the regional level through access to digital teacher training courses. By promoting collaboration and knowledge exchange across regions, the project seeks to develop and implement best practices for teacher training that reflect the diverse needs of Ukrainian communities.
• creating innovative teaching materials: develop adaptable resources, leveraging digital and interactive tools to enhance engagement in sustainability education; provide professional development opportunities: deliver workshops, modular training programs, and advanced pedagogical sessions for pre-service and in-service teachers;
