The main directions and functions of the Laboratory are:

- unification of intellectual and material and technical resources when conducting educational classes and performing scientific research;

- obtaining liquefied nitrogen at a cryogenic installation (PLN 108S Stirling) and providing it with the needs of the educational process and research works in accordance with the submitted orders and technological capabilities of the installation;

- provision of advisory services regarding low-temperature research.

- storage and transportation of liquid nitrogen;

- technical support for the functioning of the cryogenic equipment of the Laboratory.
