Piezoelectricity in 2D-materials: materials, modeling, and applications

International project

Piezoelectricity in 2D-materials: materials, modeling, and applications”

HORIZON-MSCA-2022-SE-01

Deadline for completion: October 2023 - September 2027

Project objective: creating a technology to provide local power generation (microgenerators) from the nano- to micro-level to power nano- and micro-devices. The Piezo2D project makes it possible to do this by expanding and applying the combined capabilities of equilibrium and nonequilibrium thermodynamics and atomistic models with device physics and engineering.

Results:

The research will form the basis for future developments in nanoscale energy devices. New characterization methods and methodology protocols will also be developed to guide future standards and their use in industry. The multidisciplinary approach of the Piezo2D project brings together leading teams in theoretical physics, materials science, chemistry and instrumentation to work in synergy.
