International Ukrainian-Austrian Agreement

"Artificial Intelligence for Visualization of Oncological Diseases in Women"

(scientific supervisor – Dr. Sci. in Medicine, S.V. Zhero)

Implementation period: July 2025 – December 2026.

Goal: In patients with aggressive forms of breast cancer and ovarian cancer, jointly with the MIAAI Research Centre at the Danube Private University (DPU) and Uzhhorod National University, to develop predictive models of response to neoadjuvant chemotherapy based on radiological images (ultrasound, mammography, magnetic resonance imaging, and computed tomography) obtained prior to treatment, with subsequent extraction of radiomic features for the creation of artificial intelligence models.

Results: The project will contribute to the development, refinement, and validation of artificial intelligence-based algorithms for predicting response to neoadjuvant chemotherapy in breast and ovarian cancer. Of particular importance is the external validation of AI algorithms on data independent of the training and test sets, as this is critical for clinical implementation and ensuring physicians' trust in AI models. This represents a significant barrier in many aspects of medical AI research. Therefore, this work will be an important step towards establishing the reliability of models and implementing AI to improve personalised cancer treatment.
