Rector of UzhNU Volodymyr Smolanka was elected a member of the Administrative Council of the World Federation of Neurosurgical Societie

The Congress of the World Federation of Neurosurgical Societies (WNNS), which unites neurosurgeons of our planet, was held this year on 4-9 December in Cape Town (South Africa). The Rector of our University, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor V. Smolanka delivered a presentation on "Brainstem Tumours" as an invited lecturer at the Congress. 

In addition to scientific presentations, the Congress also considered organisational issues and elected a new composition of the World Federation's governing body, the Administrative Board. According to the results of the voting, 9 prominent neurosurgeons of the world were elected to the Administrative Council for a new term. Among them is a well-known Ukrainian neurosurgeon, Rector of UzhNU Volodymyr Smolanka, who is the first representative of Eastern Europe in the history of the World Federation to serve on the Administrative Council. 89.54% of the Congress participants supported his candidacy.
