At the Faculty of Engineering and Technology, we combine education, science and practice to help students reveal their abilities and find their own place in the world of technology. Every technology begins with a person who sees an opportunity to make something better. At the Faculty of Engineering and Technology of Uzhhorod University, we help turn this curiosity into a profession – to learn to design, create, research and take responsibility for one's own decisions.
Our faculty unites fields that determine the development of the modern world: mechanical engineering, instrument making, electronics, computer systems, automation and construction. Such a combination opens the opportunity to see an engineering task more broadly: to understand how mechanisms and software interact, materials and structures, an individual building and the urban environment. It is at the intersection of this knowledge that solutions are born that industry, communities and technology business need.
Studying here is a gradual path from understanding physical laws to independent work on an engineering project. Lectures are continued in laboratory research, calculations, drawings, computer models and practical tasks. We strive for the student to be able to explain why the proposed solution works, to verify its reliability and to see what can be improved.
An important part of this path is cooperation with manufacturing enterprises, IT companies and construction organizations. Internships, familiarity with technological processes and work on applied tasks help to better understand the profession and determine one's own interests. Dialogue with employers enables the faculty to take into account changes in the industries and to link the training of specialists with the real needs of the labour market.
Research work opens space for those who want to ask their own questions and seek new answers. Together with mentors, students join research, present results at conferences, participate in scientific schools, startups and hackathons. This is an experience that teaches teamwork, substantiating ideas, accepting criticism and refining an idea to a result that can be demonstrated and applied.
The foundation of the faculty is its community. Here the experience of teachers and the boldness of student ideas, scientific interests and practical skills, different specialties and generations meet. Joint projects, Engineer's Day, freshman initiation, sports and public initiatives create connections that often last after graduation as well.
We work in Zakarpattia and understand the university's responsibility to its region. The development of enterprises, a quality urban environment, reliable infrastructure and the introduction of new technologies require people with thorough knowledge and a readiness to act. Today these skills are especially important for the recovery and modernization of Ukraine.
