The scientific library of Uzhhorod National University received a unique book as a gift
Owing to the Consulate General of the Slovak Republic in Uzhhorod, the Scientific Library of Uzhhorod National University was presented a unique book on the history of Transcarpathia of the Czechoslovak period "Czechoslovak World in the Carpathians 2" by the Slovak diplomat Vladimir Kustek.
We would like to remind you that on June 5, 2019, the presentation of the first book "Czechoslovak World in the Carpathians" took place in the university library. It was published on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the founding of Czechoslovakia, which included Transcarpathia for 20 years.
Unfortunately, due to lockdown, we are not able to meet in the premises of a cozy reading room, but thanks to the Internet we can present a valuable gift to the general public.
This illustrated edition was donated to the scientific library by Miroslav Mojžita, Consul General of the Slovak Republic in Uzhhorod, who highly values books and is a sincere supporter of the university library and its collection of books. Mr. Mojžita spoke very positively about the book "Czechoslovak World in the Carpathians 2" and reminded that its author Vladimir Kustek, a Slovak diplomat who worked in Asia and Africa, was an ardent admirer of Transcarpathia. After traveling in the Carpathians in his student years he fell in love with the beauty of nature of our region and spent all his vacations here. Fascination with the history of the Silver Land resulted in the publication of the second book "Czechoslovak World in the Carpathians 2", which we are happy to present to you.
