Master's graduates of the Faculty of Law set off into professional life

On 19 February, another solemn event took place in the grand hall of the rectorate of Uzhhorod National University — master's graduates of the Faculty of Law received their documents confirming higher education. This year the department graduated 87 specialists, 27 of whom received diplomas with honours.

The first to greet the graduates was the Dean of the Faculty of Law, Yaroslav Lazur: "Today we have a wonderful event — the awarding of diplomas. And this is not merely a formality — it is an important stage in the lives of our graduates, who have a successful professional future ahead of them. This is not just a document — behind it stands your many years of work and many years of success. I want to thank all of you, to thank your parents, above all for their patience, to thank the lecturers and methodologists. I know that this time motivates you to become excellent lawyers, and not only in terms of knowledge and competence, but also with regard to universal human qualities and an understanding of the purpose of the profession."

Next to speak was Mykhailo Savchyn, Professor of the Department of Administrative, Financial and Information Law, who is also a representative of the faculty's first graduating class. "I want to congratulate you on your graduation and wish you professional establishment, so that you are respected. An important mission has fallen to you — to work in conditions of war. Therefore each of you must do everything as best as possible in your own area. I wish you inspiration, health and, as they say in Zakarpattia, 'serencha' (happiness and good luck). Success to you!"

On behalf of the graduates, Polina Malesh spoke: "It seems like only recently we met in a similar atmosphere, in gowns, because we became bachelors. And today we are already masters of law, graduates of the Faculty of Law of the 2023–2024 academic year. But it is not the diploma that shows our abilities. We do that ourselves — with our knowledge, skills and experience." The young woman thanked all those who were by their side throughout the years of study: parents, lecturers, the leadership, as well as fellow students. Of course, she also mentioned those without whom this celebration could not have taken place — the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Then the solemn awarding of diplomas began. The students received them from the hands of the Dean of the Faculty, Yaroslav Lazur.

The event concluded traditionally — with a joint photo with lecturers and parents, as well as the tossing of graduation caps.
