Technical Component
Effective implementation of innovative technologies in the educational process is impossible without the use of technical means, primarily computer and peripheral, network equipment, and multimedia tools. The high cost and technical complexity of these means require constant highly qualified maintenance, which at the university is carried out by the staff of the Center for Information Technologies, whose priority tasks are the design and installation of local networks of the university, maintenance of information systems, monitoring the operation and adjustment of computer, office and multimedia equipment, technical support for conducting classes, conferences, exhibitions, etc.
The university has more than 140 public Wi-Fi access points. Continuous access to the Internet is provided for students, teachers and staff. Individual work of students on computers, as well as practical and laboratory work at the university are provided by more than 30 computer laboratories. In addition, multimedia lecture halls equipped with modern teaching tools have been created at all faculties.
E-Learning and Electronic Repository of Scientific Publications
The electronic form of learning and access to the university's educational resources are implemented through educational web portals built on the basis of the open-source Moodle e-learning system.
For the centralised storage and provision of open online access to the results of scientific activity, a unified electronic repository of scientific publications has been created. Our strategic goal is to create a unified electronic archive of the results of research work, articles, methodological developments of teachers and researchers of the university, and qualification papers of students for their centralised storage and provision of open access to them for the global academic community.
The CIT staff have deployed the university repository on the basis of the open-source DSpace platform at the address: dspace.uzhnu.edu.ua
