Workshop “Robotics in Preschool and Primary Education”

The first workshop on the topic “Robotics in Preschool and Primary Education”, organised for students of the second (master’s) level of higher education, was held in the EduRob educational robotics laboratory.
The speaker at the event was Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Professor Marianna SHVardak. Within the workshop, the speaker familiarised the participants with a modern collection of specialised robotics kits for children of preschool and primary school age, and also highlighted the basic theoretical principles and pedagogical models for introducing robotics into the educational process. Particular attention was paid to the practical block, where master’s students directly mastered working with innovative kits. Carrying out construction and programming with the UARO construction set, the participants developed engineering thinking, while completing tasks with the Matatalab robot (a tile-bot) allowed them to practise in practice the methods of forming spatial imagination and creativity without straining children’s eyesight.
The workshop demonstrated the high interest of future teachers in the use of modern STEM technologies and contributed to the formation of professional competencies necessary for preparing a new generation of education seekers.
