On Monday, 5 October, introductory and working meetings of deans of faculties and heads of administrative units of the Uzhhorod and Mukachevo campuses were held at Uzhhorod University. This is another step in continuing the development of a unified Uzhhorod University.
During the meeting, the acting rector of Uzhhorod University, Volodymyr Smolanka, emphasised the need to build direct interaction between the relevant units of the university in Uzhhorod and Mukachevo.
“The moment has come when we must cooperate more closely with our colleagues from the Mukachevo campus — to get acquainted, to understand who is responsible for what, and to build joint work. It is important for us that this be not merely a formal change of status, but real cooperation between people,” noted Volodymyr Smolanka.
According to him, it is important that heads of units know their colleagues, understand whom to contact on work matters, and build cooperation directly between the relevant structural links.
Separately, Volodymyr Smolanka introduced Larysa Kapitan in her new position as vice-rector for research and pedagogical work. She will be responsible for the academic administration of Uzhhorod University and the organisation of educational work. At the same time, she will continue coordination and interaction with the Mukachevo campus.
The Mukachevo campus itself will be headed by the candidate of economic sciences, associate professor Vasyl Pihosh.
During the meeting, Larysa Kapitan introduced the heads of faculties of the Mukachevo campus. She noted that for her this meeting is an opportunity to work again with colleagues whom she has known for many years, but now in a new status.
“Status changes, but people remain, because that is the foundation,” said Larysa Kapitan.
As part of the meetings, the heads of units had the opportunity to introduce themselves, get acquainted with colleagues and outline directions for further cooperation.
Such working meetings are intended to facilitate the establishment of joint work of a unified Uzhhorod University — in particular in the organisation of the educational process, administrative interaction and coordination of the work of structural units.
