Scientists of UzhNU participated in the international conference on cross-border cooperation of Ukraine with Visegrad states
On Tuesday, December 13, the Research Center of the Slovak Foreign Policy Association, the Faculty of Social and Economic Sciences of Jan Comenius University in Presov, Presov University in Presov, Uzhhorod National University and the Center for Strategic Partnership held an international conference "Cross-border cooperation of the Visegrad Four with the Transcarpathian region of Ukraine – status "quo" and prospects" in Uzhhorod.
Its participants emphasized that all the Visegrad Four states were interested in the development of friendly relations with Ukraine. The Transcarpathian region of Ukraine borders on three (out of four) Visegrad countries. It means that the border regions of Hungary, Poland and Slovakia are interested in intensifying cross-border cooperation with their eastern neighbour. Although the Czech Republic has no border with Ukraine, our ties are traditionally close.
Scientists of the neighboring countries aimed to analyze bilateral relations with each of the Visegrad Four state with Ukraine, paying particular attention to the activities within CBC with the Transcarpathian region of Ukraine. Special attention was paid to the analysis of the Visegrad countries + Ukraine tool, including cross-border cooperation projects.
The conference was attended by the Consul General of the Slovak Republic in Uzhhorod Janka Burianova, consul of the Consulate General of Hungary in Uzhhorod Laszlo Vida and heads of structural subdivisions of the Transcarpathian Regional State Administration.
Senior researcher, adviser to the NISS directorate Svitlana Mitryayeva, executive director of the Regional Development Association KIUT - Hungarian-Slovakian-Ukrainian cooperation in the border region Andras Rakoczy, senior researcher, Associate Professor of the Department of International Business, Logistics and Management of UzhNU Viktoriya Bondarenko, researcher of the Institute of World Economy of the Academy of Sciences of Hungary Andras Deak, Associate Professor of Marie Curie Skladovska University, Lublin (Poland) Lukas Levkovits, senior researcher of the Research Center of Slovak Foreign Policy Association Vladimir Bench and others presented their analytical reports at the conference.
