Greetings from the rector of UzhNU Volodymyr Smolanka on International Students’ Day

Greetings from the rector of UzhNU Volodymyr Smolanka on International Students’ Day

Dear friends!

This year, we are celebrating International Students’ Day in the most difficult conditions for Ukraine since the time it gained its Independence in 1991.

However, we are celebrating in spite of all the difficulties!

Because Students’ Day is not only about fun and entertainment.

Students’ Day is also about hope.

It is about optimism.

About the belief in a favourable future.

About the lust for life.

About the insatiable desire to accomplish feats

And also about the energy to create.

Your peers, students, went to Independence Square in Kyiv and created a new reality, a new history - the Revolution of Dignity in these days of 2013. They began their struggle for a happy future in a free country.

I know that a lot of UzhNU students are currently continuing this struggle on various fronts - volunteering, informational, medical, and some are fighting on the front line with weapons in their hands.

I am grateful to each and every one of you for your courage and bravery. And for donating to the Armed Forces of Ukraine!

You are the pride of Uzhhorod National University!

My friends, happy Students’ Day. I wish you faith, hope and love.

And rest a little today:)

After all, Students’ Day is also about fun and entertainment.

Happy holiday, friends!

Sincerely,

Volodymyr Smolanka
