Another stage of the “Smart Energy” project, launched in March, 2020, was carried out at Uzhhorod National University. Its goal is to increase the level of use of new technologies and innovations in the field of renewable energy. It is implemented as part of the international Ukrainian-Romanian project which is aimed at supporting research and innovations in the border regions of Ukraine and Romania. 12 students of the Faculty of Engineering have already attended the first lecture on energy audit.

Myroslava Lendel - Vice-Rector for Academic Policy, Research and International Relations of Uzhhorod National University

"Teachers of the Faculty of Engineering and Technology will tell students about the theoretical foundations of energy management and energy audit. Then, the expert selected within the project will conduct practical training on energy audit of buildings. We are planning to conduct the energy audit of the Faculty of Biology, the building of the old rector's office and one of the dormitories of our university. "

There were also several round tables with Romanian partners online, where the teaching methods were developed for students of the Faculty of Engineering.

Anatoliy Hychka - the chief electrician of Uzhhorod National University

“This is actually a big step forward, a great chance and a great prospect for the university, because due to this project we have got the possibility to conduct an energy audit of 3 buildings, which have already been approved by the project manager. The energy audit will allow us to attract foreign funds for the repair and modernization of equipment that consumes energy resources."

This month, the project will host a round table online, with the participation of scientists and experts working in the field of resource management who will be able to talk about the experience and best practices of energy use in Transcarpathia.
