Partnership for Genomic Research in Ukraine and Romania UA-RO GENOME № 2SOFT/1.2/48
UA-RO GENOME № 2SOFT/1.2/48
Project title: Partnership for Genomic Research in Ukraine and Romania
The project is implemented in the frame of The Joint Operational Programme Romania-Ukraine 2014 – 2020, which is financed by the European Union through the European Neighborhood and Partnership Instrument and co-financed by the participating countries in the programme.
Duration: 14.02.2020-01.2023
The main objective: A highly collaborative study will be jointly designed and implemented to collect and sequence 300 human genomes in the Zakarpattia, Satu Mare and Baia Mare (Maramures) regions. This will be achieved from close coordination between 23 researchers directly involved in this project in two partnership institutions. We will use this new database to identify and describe common, rare, and endemic medically-relevant mutations in the ethnically diverse human population of the RO-UA cross-border region. Our close collaboration will produce a publicly accessible on-line resource of genome variation in this previously unexplored region.
Partners: SU “Uzhhorod National University”, Ukraine
”VASILE GOLDIȘ” University Foundation of Arad, Branch of Satu Mare, Romania
Grant for UzhNU: 134 460 EUR
