Project full title: Carpathian Star Way
Acronym: CSW
Project duration: 01.07.2021-31.12.2023
The project focuses on the problem of light pollution.
Overall objective: to raise awareness of the problem of light pollution among the target groups in the region. These are state institutions (municipalities, cultural institutions, etc.), primary and secondary school pupils, and tourists. Geographically, the project focuses on 3 national parks and their surroundings. In these areas, the level of light pollution is relatively low. Therefore, there is a chance to use them as a good example and promote the benefits of living under the natural night sky. The main beneficiary of the project are residents of the region.
Main activities:
1. Awareness raising - conferences and seminars.
2. Static and mobile measurements of the night sky and meteorological parameters.
3. Continuous daily and night promotion of the project goals and the beauty of the unpolluted night sky.
Expected results:
Knowledge of target groups on light pollution.
Improved capabilities of project partners in conducting research, educational and outreach activities in the field of natural night landscape protection.
Better understanding of the correlation between measurements of sky brightness and other environmental parameters.
