Department of internal diseases

Internal Medicine Department of the Medical Faculty №2 was foundated in 2016. Head of the Department is MD, PhD, Prof. Tovt-Korshynska Marianna Ivanivna.

The Department prepares english-speaking foreign students from India, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Maldives, Nigeria, Zimbabwe, Ghana, Egypt, Libya, Yemen, Iraq, Morocco, Israel, Hungary, Slovakia and other countries in the specialty "General medicine".

The list of courses

The following courses are conducted in English:

• Internal Medicine, including Endocrinology, Medical Genetics (IV year),

• Internal Medicine II, including Clinical Pharmacology, Clinical Immunology and Allergology, Occupational Ddiseases (V year);

• Internal Medicine (profile course - VI year);

• Internal Medicine III (VI year);

• Physical Rehabilitation (IV year);

• Nursing Practice (III year),

• Elective Courses for IV and VI years,

• as well as - clinical practices in Internal Medicine for the IV-VI years students.

There are elective courses in Ukrainian for students of other faculties, in particular the specialties "physical rehabilitation", "pharmacy", etc.

For each study course, there is a complex of materials, including:

- work programs of courses;

- schedules of classes and knowledge control;

- plans, notes and presentations of lectures;

- instructions for the students’ individual work;

- tests, tasks, tickets for knowledge and skills control.

In order to achieve the study aims, the materials for individual work, the lists of control questions, test, clinical tasks to check the level of knowledge, were developed.  In order to facilitate the independent study of the material, the teachers of the department have developed appropriate guidelines for self-study of specific topics in all disciplines taught at the department. The basic information and materials in each study subject is available for students and provided in printed out and electronic variants as manual for students, developed for each topic. All the necessary standard programs, work programs and plans are developed and approved for each study course. The clinical subjects are conducted with the modern evidence based international recommendations and protocols. 

For the students preparation to the State License exam KROK-2, an electronic MCQs database had been developed for the each study course, basing on available tests booklets and bases, which are selected from the KROK-2 database. For each specialty and cycle, the appropriate tests are used for during controls.

The main educational materials are uploaded in the electronic distant learning platform of the University "e-learn".  Electronic versions of lectures, manuals for practical and self-study for students with tests and clinical tasks are uploaded in the University website as well.
