Department of International Studies and Public Communication
Throughout 2022, members of the department have conducted research on various aspects of international relations in Central and Eastern Europe, including historical, political, security, and communication perspectives. Specifically, their research has focused on Ukraine's position and role in these areas, particularly in defining the security dimension of international relations in the context of the Russian invasion of Ukraine. The team has also examined the state of national security in Central and Eastern European countries, analysed the modern geopolitical challenges posed by Russia, and identified features of cross-border cooperation in Zakarpattia with neighbouring countries. Moreover, they have investigated the historical transformations of national interests in Eastern and Central European countries.

The team conducted extensive studies on the topics of European and Euro-Atlantic integration of Ukraine and international security relations to gain a deeper understanding of these issues. They provided a comprehensive interdisciplinary analysis of Ukraine's European and Euro-Atlantic integration, as well as its relations with leading international organizations on collective security.
Drawing on reliable legal, periodic, statistical, and other sources, and taking into account national and global historical and political science, the study examines the political, economic, and ideological principles underlying Ukraine's integration efforts. The findings of this research have helped to develop and refine recommendations on foreign policy trends in Zakarpattia Oblast, Ukraine. In addition, this research has raised public awareness, particularly among young people, of important issues related to international security and Ukraine's integration into Europe and the Euro-Atlantic community. The study has disseminated information on the current state and future prospects of international and European security.
