Faculty of International Economic Relations


The Faculty of International Economic Relations is one of the most prestigious faculties of Uzhhorod National University. It prepares specialists which are in great demand both in Ukraine and abroad. The faculty was founded in 1998 as an affiliated branch of the Institute of International Relations of Kyiv Shevchenko National University. The faculty is headed by Doctor of Political Sciences, Professor Mykola Myhailovych Palinchak. 

The education at the faculty is provided by four departments: the Department of International Economic Relations (headed by Doctor of Economic Sciences, Professor Prykhodko V.P.), the Department of Applied Linguistics (headed by Doctor of Philological Sciences, Professor Poluzhyn M.M.), the Department of International Policy (headed by Candidate of Historical Sciences, Professor Panov A.V.), and the Department of Theory and Practice of Translation (headed by Doctor of Philological Sciences, Professor Zymomrya  I.M.)

The faculty provides courses of instruction for the Bachelor Degree in the following specialties:

  • «International Economic Relations» (educational programs «Economic Diplomacy», «International Business», «Investment Policy», «International Economics»);
  • «Philology. Applied Linguistics».

 The faculty provides courses of instruction for the Master’s Degree in the following specialties:

  • «International Economic Relations» (educational programs «International Business», «International Economic Relations»);
  • «Philology. Applied Linguistics» (educational program «Applied Linguistics»). 

The process of education is provided by highly qualified teachers and specialists having experience of working for diplomatic corps, consular institutions, state institutions, business projects. The teaching staff of the faculty regularly attend teacher training courses supported by international programs at the institutions of higher learning of the USA and Europe. The staff take part in teacher training courses provided by educational organizations (American Council, British Council).

The peculiarity of educational training at the faculty is the additional specialty of an interpreter, which is very important for the future professional activity of the graduates. 

The graduates of our faculty can continue their studies abroad and find a prestigious job. Our graduates work as diplomats, public servants, economists, entrepreneurs, bankers, accountants, translators, interpreters, teachers of institutions of higher learning.
